Bartender of the month: Meet Kamil!

“Hello, my name is Kamil and I work as a bar manager in Stradom House Autograph collection in Krakow, Poland.”

Hello Kamil, welcome! What do you enjoy the most about beign a bartender?

“What I enjoy the most in being a bartender is for sure the fact that every day is totally different and you can meet so many amazing people! You can learn from them and you have great opportunity to learn about different countries, different habits and different people.”

How do you recognize a bartender if there is something that you think is recognizable for bartenders?

“I don't really think there is a single thing that lets you straight away recognize a bartender, but if I have to choose some, probably they're going to have tattoos, especially bartending tattoos, a very specific type of clothing, and just sometimes... you can feel their aura!"

Okay. What's the most commonly used expression for a bartender?

“Oh la la, I'm not really sure if I should say it in Polish. Hum... Backstreet."

What was your most memorable sip?

“My most memorable sip, would be probably when I tried strong alcohol for the first time. It was something that my uncle and my grandmother prepared. I wasn't even 18 at the time, but they just gave me a little bit to try, it was a cherry liqueur, I'll never forget that."

Our motto at SIP is everybody can bring something to the table. What do you think you bring to the table?

“I think that what I bring to the table is the interaction with the guests. I just love talking to them and I still believe that no matter what your skills in making drinking are, it's all about hospitality. Yeah, I really believe that, it's one of my strongest points."

Cool. If you could have a drink with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

“I'm gonna choose a person that is still alive. And, it's going to be Elon Musk!"

SIP is an acronym, what would it stand for you?

"It’s a good question. For me, I think it's about the growth and sharing your knowledge with others. This is what I personally like the most. I used to learn a lot and I'm still learning because once you stop learning and you think you know everything, it's the end for you. At the same time, what I really enjoy more with years and years is sharing my knowledge with my fellow colleagues."
