This new SOPI (that's South Pigalle) nightspot, just round the corner from Dirty Dick and Glass, is one of those all too rare bars in Paris which stays open until the wee hours of the morning well, around 4am at least making it a great place to stop off for a late night tipple, a night cap, or an early morning sharpener for that matter. Nighthawks can enjoy top cocktails care of the skilled bartender, formerly of Le Carmen. There are around 10 drinks on the list, all reasonably priced by the standards of the city, a mix of house creations and classics try the properly potent Rum Smash. The décor nods to the slightly risqué reputation of the neighbourhood, faintly suggestive wallpaper and what looks very much like a stripper pole. But it's all done with tongue in cheek and the atmosphere is suitably chilled and laid back, a DJ taking to decks as the night wears on and the crowd is young-ish, hip and nocturnal.
