International Tequila Day is celebrated on July 24th to honour the rich history of tequila, a distilled spirit made from the blue agave plant native to Mexico. Originating in the 16th century, tequila has become a symbol of Mexican culture and tradition. Enjoy the day and celebrate with an iconic tequila cocktail - try this Margarita Agave reSIPe:
2 oz (60 ml) Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila
1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
0.5 oz (15 ml) agave nectar
Salt for rimming (optional)
Lime wheel for garnish
Prepare your glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt. Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a glass with fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel.
