1. What is SIP Supernova?
SIP Supernova is Pernod Ricard’s global hospitality competition, designed to celebrate and empower the next generation of bartenders and hospitality professionals. It’s more than a cocktail competition — it’s a platform for growth, education, and creativity, connecting emerging talent around the world.
2. What is this year’s theme?
The 2026 edition explores “Sensory Architecture” — an invitation to design drinks and experiences that go beyond flavour, engaging all the senses and creating lasting memories. Temperature, glass shape, texture, effervescence, and atmosphere all play a role.
3. How is SIP Supernova different from other cocktail competitions?
It celebrates the full spectrum of hospitality — not just mixology. Participants are evaluated on three key areas:
• Creativity & Innovation
• Hosting & Service
• Leadership & Operations
Every stage is designed to help you grow as a hospitality professional.
4. Who can enter?
SIP Supernova is open to bartenders and hospitality professionals with 6 years’ experience or less in the industry. This includes bartenders, front-of-house staff, F&B managers, and hotel/restaurant professionals.
5. I’ve been working in hospitality for more than 6 years. Can I still participate?
You can’t compete, but you’re warmly invited to join our MentorSIP events and follow the competition journey to connect and learn alongside the next generation.
6. My country isn’t hosting a local Supernova this year. Can I still apply?
Yes! You can join through the Global Wild Card, open to bartenders worldwide.
7. Is there an entry fee?
No — participation in SIP Supernova is completely free.
8. How do I apply?
All applications must be submitted via join-sip.com.
Follow these three steps:
1. Share your Serve – Create a multi-sensory drink concept (recipe, picture & method).
2. Inspire with your Story – Tell us what drives your creativity and community (video or essay).
3. Pioneer with your Ideas – Share your vision for the future of hospitality (video or essay).
You can start your application, save your progress, and come back to complete it before the deadline.
9. Can I apply as a team or must I enter individually?
SIP Supernova is an individual competition — but collaboration and team spirit are encouraged throughout your journey.
10. How many winners will be selected per country ?
Each participating country can decide to send between 1, 2 or 3 finalist to the Global final in Tokyo.
11. What happens if I win my national competition?
You’ll represent your country at the Global Final in Tokyo, where you’ll compete alongside winners from other markets and the Global Wild Card champion.
12. How are entries judged?
Entries are reviewed by a panel of Judges – leaders in hospitality and creativity – based on creativity, storytelling, guest experience, and innovation. Judges names will be communicated on a market by market base.
13. What's the role of the Mentors ?
SIP Supernova has a team of global mentors who guide, coach, and inspire participants through webinars, mentorship sessions, and live masterclasses. Finalists will also receive private coaching from mentors before the Global Final.
14. What brands are featured in SIP Supernova?
The seven Global hero brands: Código 1530, Kinobi, Altos, Havana Club, Absolut, Jameson, and Monkey 47. These brands will be visible at every stage of the competition. Locally more brands can be added. Check local T&Cs for details.
15. How does the competition work locally?
Each country can choose its structure: either direct national finals or preliminary rounds. The only requirements are:

16. What can I win?
At SIP Supernova, there are multiple winners celebrating different strengths:
National Finalists: Exclusive prizes such as brand experiences, guest shifts, tools, and cash rewards (check your local details).
Global Winners (Top 3):
A SIP Internship with a World’s 50 Best Bars team and an educational immersion at the Código 1530 Distillery in Jalisco, Mexico
17. When and where is the Global Final?
The SIP Supernova Global Final will take place in Tokyo in May 2026, aligned with the Tokyo Bar Show.
18. Will travel and hosting be supported for finalists?
Yes your trip to Tokyo will be fully covered, including your flights, visas, food & experiences. Please note that personnal expenses outside the planned itinerary on the ground won't be covered.
19. Why should I apply?
SIP Supernova is more than a cocktail competition. It’s an opportunity to learn from world-class mentors, represent your country on a global stage, build an international network, and showcase your talent to the hospitality world.
20. What measurement units should I use for my cocktail recipe?
We recommend using millilitres (ml) for clarity and consistency.
21. What file formats can I upload for my videos or essays?
Video submissions should be in standard formats (MP4, MOV, AVI) and no longer than 1,30 minutes. Written entries can be submitted as text directly in the application form.
22. Who can I contact if I experience issues with my application?
