The Irish Coffee was created in the 1940s by Chef Joe Sheridan when a Pan Am flying boat flew into Limerick in dreadful weather. In order to warm his guests up he added a shot of whiskey to their coffee. 1/2 Part Jameson Irish Whiskey 1 Part Simple Syrup 4 Part Coffee Unsweetened Slightly Whipped Cream Glass: Irish Coffee Grated Nutmeg 1. Pour the whiskey, simple syrup and freshly brewed coffee into an Irish Coffee glass. 2. Stir with a bar spoon. 3. Take a bar spoon, rest it just on the surface of the drink and pour the cream onto it. 4. The cream will slowly flow over the spoon and rest on top of the coffee. 5. Grate some nutmeg onto the cream.
