The modern and best known interpretation of this drink was invented in the 1970’s by Billy Rise in San Francisco but can trace its routes back to the 1930’s. The drink gets its name from Grenadine creating a sun kissed effect. 2 Part Olmeca Altos Plata 4 Part Orange Juice ¼ Part Grenadine Glass: Highball Orange Wheel & Cherry 1. Fill a Highball glass with cubed ice. 2. Add tequila. 3. Add fresh orange juice. 4. Float grenadine into the glass using a barspoon. 5. Garnish with an orange wheel and a cherry on a cocktail stick.
