In David A Embury’s seminal book "The Fine Art Of Mixing Drinks” he lists the Manhattan as one of six essential cocktails. He uses bourbon but to make an Emerald Manhattan use Jameson Black Barrel. 2 Part Jameson Black Barrel 1 Part Lillet Rouge 2 Dash Angostura Bitters Glass: Cocktail Cocktail Cherries or Lemon Peel Twist 1. Pour the whiskey and sweet vermouth into a mixing glass. 2. Add two dashes of bitters. 3. Add a scoop of ice. 4. Stir with a bar spoon until perfect dilution and temperature is reached. 5. Strain into a cocktail glass. 6. Garnish with three cocktail cherries on a stick.
